On the silent mountain all whitewashed clean from last nights snow. We sit on a sun warmed boulder nestled high on the mountain amongst the frozen trees. We quietly reflect, renew ourselves, and look ahead to the promise of tomorrow.

I sat on the hillside watching as the clouds drift by.

Their shapes and colors constantly and forever, changing.

As I watch, reminiscenses of my life pass in my mind.

Soaring

Soaring over the ancient hills-going higher and higher,
the mighty eagle climbs and fades in and out of the billowy clouds.

Spiraling... spiraling... forever upwards,
wings reaching-out above the clouds,
embracing the hazy yellow sun.

Climbing ever higher, above the last wisps of clouds
and into the vast azure-blue sky,
the powerful eagle is only a tiny speck, until he disappears.

Winters Embrace

The virgin snow; white crisp and freshly fallen.
Air so cold and tingly, nibbling my ears.
In the distance a crow is calling,
momentarily drowned out by the moaning arctic winds
spraying snow across the meadow below.
The sky constantly moving and rolling like a turbulent sea,
unexpectedly stills and is softened by hints of azure blue and subtle hints of sunlight filtered through blankets of steel grey clouds.

I hope you enjoy looking at and reading some of my artwork. I enjoy painting in acrylics, oils, and drawing with tools as simple as a Bic pen or Craypas. One of the more exciting tools in recent years, has been the digital camera and the ability you have to create layered montages of mixed media or to use the image exactly as captured! My diverse portfolio reflects my love and passion for a variety of mediums, and my belief that artwork should reflect the period of life you have created that piece in and the media best suited to execute the piece.
