Tree of Life

The lonely twisted tree survives precariously on the very edge of the canyon walls. Wintry blasts and summers scorching heat, have yet to reduce it to cinders. It's roots have patiently dug deep into the rock and sand, as it hangs on with a deaths grip, to the canyons edge. It's scant limbs and sparse needles, always reaching to embrace the sun.

Evenings Blanket 3

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore — While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. "'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door — Only this and nothing more." ~The Raven, Edgar Allen Poe
